CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Changshou Lake International Triathlon of 2017 will be held in Changshou Lake Scenic Zone from November 4 to 5. Over a thousand runners have signed up, resulting in the closing of applications eleven days early. This marks the largest number of participants in the history of this level of triathlon.

Traditional events including Elite Group, Standard Distance Age Group, Sprint Distance Age Group and FunTri Group are available in the Changshou Lake International Triathlon, and based on the aquathlon and duathlon, mixed relay will be added. The mixed relay will become one of the Olympic events in 2020, aiming to encourage more people to participate in this sport.

In addition to the diverse groups available for many triathlon lovers, a big prize bonus is another attraction of this event. Compared with the 128,000 yuan in 2016, the 280,000 yuan to be awarded this year is almost twice as much. And accordingly, the entry fee this year is only 20 yuan. Besides, many creative and runner-friendly services, including shuttle buses, a free download of the photo finish and “real-name” number slips, are offered to attract more players.

Application began in early September. The organizing committee made the online and fax application available for the public, which attracted many players at home and abroad. As of October 11, more than a thousand people have signed up, so applications closed early on October 12. The number of participants has increased 45.6% compared with the 600 participants in 2016.
