If you’ve come to Chongqing, you must know that the urban area of Chongqing is very large; therefore you should make plans for different districts.

Yuzhong District

Bayi Snack Street

It is right next to the Liberation Monument. Tourists will go to this street to have the Haoyoulai hot and sour rice noodles, which never disappoints its fans. At night, you can go to Jiaochangkou Night Market to have some snacks.

Hongyadong

You will want to go to Hongyadong if you enjoyed the movie Spirited Away. Street singers will sing there at night and you may go to the pub for some entertainment as well.

Chaotianmen Dock

Chongqing has a long history of dock culture. Chaotianmen looks more beautiful at night. You may buy the cruise ticket to appreciate Chongqing at night on board. (Tip: Buy tickets at the dock, because it is cheaper there than at the ticket office.)

Yangtze River Cableway

It became popular on the Internet after its appearance in the movie Go Fighting! It’s not wise to take the cableway during holidays, because it is really very crowded.

Jiangbei District

Guanyinqiao Business Area

It is not a place for shopping, but it’s full of delicious food. You can find snacks at sidewalk snack booths and discover upscale restaurants as you would expect to find. The street next to Starlight 68 is a kind of miniature Hong Kong.

Beicang

It’s a new cultural creative park, in which some art restaurants and Beicang Library are located. Although it is not very large, it’s a good place to take photos. It is right on the way from North Paradise Walk to Jiujie and you will find it by following the navigation map.

Jiujie

Lights are on all night at Jiujie. If you are a night bird, you must go to Jiujie, which is full of snacks and entertainment.

Nan’an/Shapingba District

Nanbin Road/Yikeshu Viewing Deck

Nanbin Road is a good place for close views while the Yikeshu is for distant views. If you love night scene, you should not miss it.

Ciqikou Ancient Town

It’s one of several ancient towns in urban Chongqing. The entrance to Ciqikou is quite narrow, so it’s best to avoid the rush hour. We have to tell you that it shows different charm at night. Besides, it is just a small town and when you are nearing the riverside, you can turn left to the lane, where there are many interesting shops.
