CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The reporter learned recently from the Chongqing Wetland Management Center that remarkable results have been achieved in the wetland ecological protection and restoration work this year. Qingshan Lake Wetland Park and the Long River Wetland Park have passed quality acceptance and gained the good reputation of the National Wetland Park. The new wetland park will also be a good place for local people to enjoy leisure and tourism.

Chongqing has launched 22 national wetland park construction pilot projects in recent years. These eight national wetland parks has passed the acceptance requirements: Caiyun Lake, Hanfeng Lake, Xiu Lake, Youshui River, Apeng River, Yingfeng Lake, Laixi River and Huanghua Island.

The Qingshan Lake National Wetland Park is located in Jinqiao Town, north of Wansheng Economic Development Zone. There is a planning area of 1,009 hectares and total area of 364.85 hectares of wetlands. The park adopts a complex wetland system composed of river, pond, paddy field and artificial canal system, which is a typical representative of mountain and reservoir wetlands.

Long River National Wetland Park is located in the Long River Basin near Fengdu Ghost Town with a planning area of 1,514 hectares and a total wetland area of 642.1 hectares. It adopts the complex wetland resources of scarce mountain river and sand bank island, which is a unique historical and cultural heritage. As the Long River National Wetland Park is adjacent to "Fengdu Ghost Town", most tourists will visit these two places together, so a new tourist route is gradually forming.
