The first non-stop flight from Chongqing to New York takes off

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- At 22:00 on October 20th, the first plane of the non-stop route from Chongqing to New York took off from Jiangbei International Airport. That flight signaled the opening of the new route from Chongqing to New York. This is the first uninterrupted flight Midwestern China to New York and the second from Chongqing to North America.

Free WIFI on Boeing 787

After leaving Jiangbei International Airport, the flight will arrive at John F. Kennedy International Airport at 00:50 (local time) the next day, spending total of 14 hours and 50 minutes airborne.

The Chongqing - New York flight departs from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at 22:00 (Beijing time) every Wednesday and Friday and arrives at John F. Kennedy International Airport at 00:50 (local time) the next day. It returns from John F. Kennedy International Airport at 02:50 (local time) every Thursday and Saturday and arrives at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at 06:35 (Beijing time).

Chongqing - New York airline uses a Boeing 787-8 luxury Wide-Bodied plane and a Boeing 787-9 dreamliner will be put into service after October 29th.

Moreover, the Boeing 787-9 dreamliner will provide satellite Internet service so passengers can connect using WIFI in the passenger cabin with their computer, iPad or other equipment when the plane is not taking off or landing.

Sixty-seven international routes at Chongqing Airport

According to Chongqing Traffic Commission, the Chongqing – New York flight, after the Chongqing - Los Angeles route launched on March 21st this year, is the second route from Chongqing to North America.

According to statistics, there are a total of 67 international flights from Chongqing, forming a passenger and freight transportation network covering Europe, America, Australia and Asia. This includes 53 passenger transport lines covering cities like London, Roma, Helsinki, Moscow, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sydney, Auckland, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Doha and Dubai, and 14 freight transport lines, covering cities like Amsterdam, Liege, Bangkok, Frankfurt and Almaty.
