The movie makers completed most of their film in scenes of the United States and United Kingdom. The only Chinese scene selected for the movie lies in Chongqing Nanchuan. Jinfo Mountain has typical Karst landforms. Owning to its magnificent mountains and charming scenery, it's called the "Oriental Alps".

Zhongshan Ancient Town buildings are mainly double-deck stilted buildings with stores on the first floor and living rooms on the second. The stores are designed with large spacing. Both buildings in the ancient town are topped with cyan tiles, built by red planks and bamboo skin, the weight borne by column.
