CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The glass-walled supermarket offers stunning 360-degree views of the products in it. Consumers can do self-service shopping, pay the bill and return products after entering it by scanning the QR code at the gate. On the evening of November 7, the first unmanned supermarket opened at Sincere Starlight Plaza in Yuzhong District, Chongqing, and attracted about 2,000 customers in the first two hours.

This unmanned supermarket, GOGO, is only 18.9km2 large and can accommodate at most 10 customers to shop at the same time. About 800 items of drinks, snacks and daily necessities are provided in it.

How to do the shopping in GOGO? There are three ways to enter the supermarket: download the GOGO app to obtain a QR code; or follow “GOGO Unmanned Supermarket” on WeChat to obtain a QR code or sign up for a membership card.

Customers can do self-service shopping after entering the supermarket, and then pay the bill by scanning the QR code or membership card at another glass gate. Every product has an electronic tag and when the customer intends to pay the bill, the touch screen display will automatically identify and display the product customer is to purchase.

The membership customer can pay the bill through automatic scanning; while the other customers have to scan the AliPay or WeChat to pay the bill.

Automatic sales return is offered in the unmanned supermarket. The customer will see a self-service sales return window when entering the payment channel. They may leave after putting the product to be returned in the window. The refund will be made to the customer’s account within 3-7 working days when the product is checked and confirmed unopened and undamaged by the worker.

“GOGO unmanned supermarket integrates the APP, cloud chain storage, iris and face recognition and AI behavior analysis and is 24-hour unmanned,” said the representative of the GOGO unmanned supermarket. The company provides the products and every worker can supply products for about ten such unmanned supermarkets.
