CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On November 9, the 9th Chongqing Hot Pot Festival opened at Jinyuan Times Square, Beibin Road. Over 300 hot pot ingredient shops and 70 hot pot brands attended. It will last for 4 days and nights. The hot pot brands vigorously show their brand characteristics and bring a hot pot food and cultural feast for citizens.

Chongqing hot pot totem inheritance ceremony and inheritor awarding ceremony, the world’s largest hot pot of Morals Village, hot pot banquet for the crowds… At the Festival, many exciting components contribute to present the charm of Chongqing hot pot to the citizens. To match with the “hot and spicy happy city festival” theme of this Hot Pot Festival, Qinma Hot Pot placed a 15-meter long table at site to let 40 people enjoy hot pot together.

Red wall, green tiles and bead curtains – Guoguoyan Shuibakuai Old Hot Pot designed the booth in a traditional Bayu folk culture style. It also invited famous Sichuan opera face-changing master Yang Kun to give a performance.

At this Hot Pot Festival, the “food safety quick inspection” team of the Chongqing Jiangbei Food and Drug Administration entered the site of the Hot Pot Festival for the first time. During the 4-day festival, the law-enforcement personnel will conduct 100 spot checks on the hot pot catering enterprise and sales enterprises to ensure food safety at the Festival.

What are the check items of “food safety quick inspection”? According to the law-enforcement personnel, there are 13 “quick inspection” items at the spot, basically including such aspects as hot pot food ingredients, condiments, oil and tableware. As for water-swollen products, such as cattle stomach, duck intestines and tendons, formaldehyde and industrial alkali tests may be conducted; for tableware in the hot pot shops, the surface cleanliness will be inspected.
