Lang Lang and his student Li Junjie

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Lang Lang always reminds everyone of an intellectual, elegant and noble artist. However, he is an easy-going person who likes online shopping and is wild about music. He told a journalist from CQNEWS that he wants to break the conventional understanding of pianist.

Classical music is not rigid

Lang Lang presented a live online telecast two days ago where he ate dumplings and played games with his net friends. Then he gave a performance with international pop musicians at the Tianmao November 11 Carnival. Do you still think that all artists are mysterious?

Lang Lang told the journalist, “actually, classical music is not rigid. Many people thought that classical music is a kind of elegant art and the musicians are kind of [like] Beethoven and Mozart. But I want to change this conventional impression”.

Cooperation with Karen Mok and Pharrell Williams

Lang Lang brought his new student, Li Junjie, to the interview. They are to cooperate with Karen Mok and Pharrell Williams.

“This joint performance will be interesting. It is an exchange of Chinese and western cultures. You will enjoy a familiar Chinese melody at the beginning and then some popular western music will attract all of you.” (Translated by Li Li, Fathom Language Limited)
