Filippo Nicosia chosen as Consul General of the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- “My work in Chongqing can be summarized by a Chinese idiom that is “continuing with the past and opening up the future,” said Filippo Nicosia (倪飞) – the new Consul General of Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing - who spoke fluent Chinese at his first press conference on Nov. 10th.

At the press conference, Filippo Nicosia said that both the leaders of Chongqing and Italy have high expectations on improving the bilateral relations. He will implement some specific projects like the China – Italy Industrial Park in the Liangjiang New Area and the Bishan China – Italy Innovative Park managed by the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies to strengthen the bilateral relations of China and Italy.

For tourism, Filippo Nicosia said, “Chongqing is a city with a rich history and culture and there is flight directly from Chongqing to Roma. And I will devote myself to the cultural exchange between Chongqing and Italy.”

“There are many delicacies in Chongqing as well as in Italy,” Filippo Nicosia said that the Second Italian Food Promotion Week will be held from November 20 — 26 and thirty activities will be held in Southwest China.

The Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing opened on December 30, 2013. This is the fourth Consulate General of Italy in China after Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, with the consulate district covering Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou.
