The first driverless commercial car debuts
At the launch conference, Lifan displayed its first driverless car based on the Apollo platform. The driverless car is based on the Lifan 820EV model. It can recognize traffic signs and traffic conditions, and is equipped with radar, camera and global satellite navigation along with synchronous sensors.
The owner needs only to input the destination into the navigation system and the car can automatically choose the route and drive to the correct location. During the driving, the car will conduct real-time positioning analysis based on mass data and reported road conditions from sensors to determine the direction and speed.
Lifan will choose one city for the pilot operation of the driverless car, but so far the specific city is unknown. (Translated by Ma Shuangshuang, Fathom Language Limited)
