A driverless car transformed from Lifan 820EV

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Driverless car technology has come to be available for commercial use and now is entering the car-sharing arena. This time, the Chongqing local auto enterprise Lifan launched the major scientific and technological achievement, becoming the leader of the industry.

Recently, Lifan, Baidu and Pand-auto held a strategic cooperation conference in Beijing. Lifan and Pand-auto have been partners of the Baidu Apollo open platform, and the three parties will cooperate in the driverless auto filed. At the conference, the first Lifan commercial driverless and sharing car debuted.

Ma Ke, the President of Lifan Group, said that with the rapid development of artificial intelligence, domestic manufacturers are facing an unprecedented revolution. Lifan hopes to cooperate with Baidu and Pand-auto to take full advantage of the resources of each party and promote the development of driverless technology and its commercial use.

The first driverless commercial car debuts

At the launch conference, Lifan displayed its first driverless car based on the Apollo platform. The driverless car is based on the Lifan 820EV model. It can recognize traffic signs and traffic conditions, and is equipped with radar, camera and global satellite navigation along with synchronous sensors.

The owner needs only to input the destination into the navigation system and the car can automatically choose the route and drive to the correct location. During the driving, the car will conduct real-time positioning analysis based on mass data and reported road conditions from sensors to determine the direction and speed.
