A launching ceremony of a new equestrian sports training base especially for children with disabilities was held at the Chengdu Jinma International Equestrian Sports Park on Nov 11.

Sponsored by Chengdu Disabled Persons' Federation and the working committee on disabled persons of Wenjiang district government, the activity invited four Chengdu equestrian athletes with disabilities.

According to the event sponsor, the activity also aims to call upon the society to care for people with disabilities.

Since the China Equestrian Festival launched in Wenjiang for the first time in 2011, equestrian sports have become more popular among the public.

This year, Wenjiang Jinma Equestrian Sports Park continued to serve as the main venue for the festival. Covering an area of 30 square kilometers, it is the largest and best equipped race course in mainland China. Its 2,000-meter-long, 25-meter-wide track can accommodate 16 horses at a single time.
