Ambassador praises Chongqing scenery and hasn’t tried hot pot for it is too “hot”

“Chongqing might be beyond recognition of diplomatists who came to Chongqing before for its spectacular skyline, world-class manufacturing capability and advanced infrastructure. The development here is so rapid, which symbolizes the development of China and also the rapid development of Sino-Australian relations.” The most important reason for Jan Adams’s visit to Chongqing is that the celebration for the 45th anniversary for the establishment Sino-Australian diplomatic relations will be held here.

It is Jan Adams’s second visit to Chongqing. She said Chongqing was a surprising city. For the specialty in Chongqing, she said she had known Chongqing hot pot was very famous long before, but she once tried Sichuan cuisine and heard hot pot was very “hot”. Therefore, she has not dared to try hot pot yet. Jan Adams and her party visited the former Australian Embassy site in Eling Park and listened to the guide’s introduction to the friendly relationship history between Australia and Chongqing.
