Chongqing Sichuan Opera Theatre 重庆市川剧院

Founded in 1951, the Sichuan Opera Theatre is a well-known national theater for traditional opera. In 1955, it merged with the Shengli Sichaun Opera Theater and in 1958, it absorbed the Sichaun Opera Troupe. From then it has developed into the existing Chongqing Sichuan Opera Theater. It is the performing venue for many operas.

Chongqing Working People’s Cultural Palace 重庆市劳动人民文化宫

When it was completed in 1952, Deng Xiaoping, who served at Southwest Bureau, gave it the name. At the beginning of 1950s, it was one of three landmark buildings of Chongqing, along with the Great Hall of the People and Datianwan Stadium. Occupying an area of 120 mu, the usable area was about 30,000m2. After an overall renovation in 2009, the building area has increased to over 50,000m2, with a greening rate of 65%. Now it is a large green leisure park in Chongqing.
