Exhibitions at Three Gorges Museum for Spring Festival

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- What’s your plan for this Spring Festival? The other day, the Three Gorges Museum (Chongqing Museum) released advance notice for some exhibitions where you may find some adorable cultural relics.
Exhibition 1:
Series Exhibition – New Year Culture: Dogs of Happiness
Time: January 24th to March 25th, 2018
Place: Temporary Exhibition Hall A, 1st floor, Three Gorges Museum
At the exhibition of “Dogs of Happiness”, you may have an intimate contact with cultural relics related to dogs and folk customs of Spring Festival. You can wander among three interactive space scenes including “Stories of Chinese Zodiacs”, “Smart Dogs” and “Folk Customs of Chinese New Year”. In addition, you may read funny stories of the Chinese Zodiacs with your families, learn about the implied meanings of traditional customs and feel the bustling and harmonious atmosphere of New Year.
Exhibition 2:
Series Exhibition – Civilization along Yangtze River: Dignity of the Kingdom – Jade Wares & Liangzhu Civilization
Time: December 27th, 2017 to April 8th, 2018
Place: Temporary Exhibition Hall D, 4th floor, Three Gorges Museum
In the history of Chinese civilization, the Yangtze River gave birth to numerous prehistoric cultures, among which Liangzhu Culture is a bright star. Over 200 sets of Liangzhu jade wares collected by Liangzhu Museum are exhibited.
The exhibition can be divided into five sections: “Land of Jade – Kingdom”, “Soul of Jade – Faith”, “Nobleness of Jade – Customs”, “Craftsmanship of Jade – Skill” and “Sublimation of Jade – Heritage”. These describe the splendid jade civilization of Liangzhu Culture and showcase the brilliant Chinese culture 5,000 years ago.
