CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- It may be difficult for many people to describe the condition and address when calling the police under emergency circumstances, with both the reporter and the 110 operator becoming anxious. On January 10th, the 32nd National “110 Publicity Day”, the “Chongqing 110” APP was officially launched, providing a new way to seek help from the police. The APP is able to show the accurate position and upload picture and video.

Difficult to say address

In the 110 Command Center of the Chongqing Municipality Public Bureau, every operator has a map of Chongqing at hand and they must ask “Where are you?” when answering phone.

“Many people reporting trouble cannot say the address,” said Chen Jun, an operator with five years of experience. According to the statistics, during the call, the most time will be spent on asking the location of the caller. The reporter may not know his location and the operator cannot pinpoint the small place from their description. However, operators cannot ask the nearest policemen to go to the spot without accurate location.
