CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Citizens can see the masterpieces of internationally-renowned Japanese photographers and feel the charm of classic art works in Chongqing. On January 20th, The View Through the Eyes of Masters – Exhibition of Nobuyoshi Araki & Hiroshi Sugimoto opened at the Jinshan Yiku Light Art Space, Liangjiang New Area. As the first exhibition of 2018, it highlights 27 photographic works of Nobuyoshi Araki and Hiroshi Sugimoto.

Nobuyoshi Araki and Hiroshi Sugimoto are master photographers with worldwide reputations. All of Nobuyoshi Araki’s masterpieces focus on life with thinking and explorations towards eternity, just like Hiroshi Sugimoto. He explains his understanding for life in photos of his wife, his cat, his daily life in Tokyo and ever-changing clouds.

Compared to Nobuyoshi Araki, Hiroshi Sugimoto is more restrained, calm and philosophical. Philosopher, modern artist, architect, antiques collector… Hiroshi Sugimoto has more titles and international tags. As he once said, he takes photos of the history of objects, and the theme of his works is time. No matter what he shoots or where he shoots, all of his works express the same profound meaning.

This exhibition will last for two months and admission is free. Visitors may not only see Nobuyoshi Araki’s classic series Flowers, Hiroshi Sugimoto’s renowned series Theaters, Animals and Seascape, but also enjoy their other excellent masterpieces created in different times.
