CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- When a driver backs into the garage and scans their parking card into an intelligent terminal on the wall, the car will be lifted up to the sixth floor like on an elevator. The first mechanical three-dimensional open-parking ground built in the main city of Dadukou District has entered the last phase. It will be opened by the end of the month.

The open-parking ground built by Chongqing Steel Structure Company is behind the Dadukou District Government Building. The entire garage covers an area of 500 square meters and is 14.5 meters high. It is divided into 6 platform floors and 56 parking spaces for cars and SUVs.

With coverage of 500 square meters as example, there are at most 15 parking spaces in one general garage. For the three-dimensional parking garage, by lift and left-right shifting equipment, the parking space will be extended up high to nearly 60 available parking spaces. After the driver parks the car and scans the parking card into an intelligent system, the car will be automatically lifted. The driver also just scans the card when picking up the car. The lifting equipment will automatically move the car to the bottom position for drivers with the whole process taking no more than two minutes.

Statistics show that at present there is a lack of more than 400 thousand parking spaces in the main city and more than one million in Chongqing. At present, the company has set up a "smart parking" industry alliance with over ten domestic and foreign enterprises, and hopes to ease the parking difficulties of Dadukou through this test.
