CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing’s beauty is shown in different ways: delicious food, fine views, beautiful girls, high-rise buildings, mountains and rivers. As for Chongqing people, the small street-witnessing daily is also a kind of beauty. Recently, we found such a mysterious beauty: Hongqiuba Footpath in the downtown area.

The name of Hongqiuba (red ball plain) was related to the bombing defense in the Anti-Japanese War. In the Anti-Japanese War, the air defense department would ring alarms and hang red balls before the air attack. And the red balls were hung at high places like Eling and Pipa Mountain. Seeing the red balls, people would hide in the air-raid shelters. So the two sides the footpaths are filled with historical and cultural elements.

Walking along the Zaozi Lanya Zhengjie for 200 – 300m, you can see the Hongqiuba Footpath. The walls on either side of the path are in two different styles, creating a fairytale-like real world.

The several hundred meters long red wall sits on flagstones, seeing the coming and going of people.

The red wall is equipped with small lights and decorated by eaves with clear grain.
