According to Chongqing Border Defense Corps, after the trial operation, the self-service inspection channel of Chongqing Jiangbei Airport was officially put into use. There was no Spring Festival travel rush, because many travelers used the self-service inspection channel.

Comparing with the traditional inspection, each traveler only takes about eight seconds to go through the self-service inspection channel, six times faster than the traditional inspection protocol. It requires only three steps: swiping identity card, swiping face (picture), and pressing fingerprint. Therefore, it greatly improves the efficiency.

According to Chongqing Border Defense Corps, Chongqing Jiangbei Airport has 30 self-service inspection channels, and it is the post with the maximum number of self-service inspection channels. Among which, the entry channels are fully operational, and the exit channels are being prepared. Travelers meeting the requirements can choose the self-service inspection channels. It is expected that the throughput will be one million person-times.

Chongqing Border Defense Corps hereby remind of you that: the exit-entry self-service inspection channels are single-person and one-way channels, so the next traveler has to wait the former finishes the inspection. They are proper for travelers at least seven years old and taller than 1.2m. They are not allowed for those holding a baby, the aged having difficulty in moving, children younger than seven years, and those with much baggage. Those travelers needing an arrival-departure record can print the latest record via the free self-service printer after passing the self-service inspection channels. That record has the same legal validity as one with the seal for finished inspection affixed by frontier inspection authority on the exit-entry documents.
