CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Some volunteers from the Three Gorges Museum spent the Spring Festival visiting museums around the world. Some of them paid a visit to Arktikum, Egypt Museum, Tokyo National Museum or others.

Gained a deep understanding of the North Pole in Lapland, Finland

When the reporter got in contact with Li Mingqiang, Li and her daughter were walking in the forest of Surrey Hills, Finland. During this Spring Festival, she took her daughter, Che Yishan, to the Arctic Circle.

Li and her daughter are both the guides at the Three Gorges Museum. Li said: “I work at the ‘Coins of Previous Dynasties’ Hall and my daughter at ‘Roads of City’ Hall. My daughter first asked to join us.”

Li said that they gained a deeper understanding of the North Pole by visiting the Museum. The Museum mainly displays the living environment and species of the North Pole and the local customs and habits, and it is one of the most famous museums in Finland.

Shocked by the Golden Mask of Tutankhamen in Cairo

During the Spring Festival, Yuan Yu paid a visit to Egypt Museum.

“I wanted to pay a visit to Egypt eight years ago, and increasingly desired to go to here when I became a volunteer.” Said Yuan Yu. After being a volunteer in June 2017, she was the guide of two permanent exhibitions and three special exhibitions.

“The Egypt Museum contains abundant collections, and shows its dignity and grandness.” Said Yuan Yu, “I was shocked by the Golden Mask of Tutankhamen in Cairo, because its jewels and colored glass have remained beautiful for thousands of years.”

Saw Chinese cultural relics in Tokyo, Japan

Shi Zhengmeng, less than 21 years old, from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, became the guide of three standing exhibitions since 2010 when she worked at the Three Gorges Museum.

On the eve of Spring Festival, Shi Zhengmeng and her mother paid a visit to Japan. They spent the whole morning visiting the Tokyo National Museum. Shi Zhengmeng said that she got used to visiting museums when going on trips, and she has been to about 40 museums in all.

“We focused on the Tokyo National Museum’s Japanese Gallery and Asian Gallery” said Shi. She basically understood the local cultural relics at the Japanese Gallery for the reason that she learned basic Japanese, but she felt more familiar with the Chinese cultural relics at the Asian Gallery.
