CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing, which has a magical landscape, will once again surprise the world. This time, it will have a greater influence. In the animated cartoon パンドーラ (“Pandora”) was created by Kawamori Shoji, known as "Father of the Transformed Armor," one of Japan's animation masters. Chongqing became the prototype city of the new Xianglong city where the story took place. No matter the landscape or people, it is full of Chongqing characteristics. It will soon be played in China, Japan and the United States. More than a hundred fans will feast their eyes on the launching event of Chongqing.

Chongqing - landmark of the future

Kawamori Shoji is the super idol of animation fans. The breathtaking mechs and settings in the classic animations “The Super Dimension Fortress Macross” and “Robotech” were created by him. He is also one of the original armor designers of the Transformers.

Pandora is the first work in which director Kawamori Shoji has cooperated with China. According to producer Sun Han, the animated cartoon series has a total of 26 episodes and will be broadcast in eight languages, including Chinese, Japanese and English. Chongqing is the model of the new Xianglong city where the story took place.

Chongqing’s cultural elements, including the city, village, tourism and food will be shown throughout the animation. The landforms such as Yuzhong Peninsula, Hongyadong, Ciqikou, Liziba Station, as well as foods such as hot pot and Xiaomian Noodles are all presented.

The director has visited Chongqing twice.

The producer, Sun Han, said that it's his common wish with director Kawamori Shoji to choose Chongqing as the background of the story. He has always been fond of Chongqing’s rare charm. Later, when consulting with the director, they happen to hold the same view.

Director Kawamori Shoji has visited Chongqing twice. Sun Han said, “After we chose Chongqing, we checked in at the Hongyadong Hotel. We visited the Chongqing Art Museum near the hotel and took a rail transit across the river. We were enthralled with the interesting buildings and magical geography.
