CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- In recent years, the Cultural And Creative Park has been popular in Chongqing. The Miaoershi Creative District and Eling Printing Factory No.2 have attracted many visitors. Recently, the reporter went to the site of the formerly state-owned Jiangling Machinery Factory in Dashiba 2nd Village and inquired about the new cultural and creative park to be built here - the 1862 Yangpao Bureau Cultural and Creative Park.

In Dashiba 2nd Village, Jiangbei District, Chongqing, there is an old factory building quietly telling the history. “Yangpao Bureau 1862” will be a new cultural and creative park to be built here. Tracing its history, it has gone through more than 100 years.

In December 1862 (the first year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty), Li Hongzhang gave orders to British Magri and Chinese official Liu Zuoyu to set up the Shanghai Yangpao Bureau in a temple outside Songjiang City of Shanghai. According to historical data, it was the“first Western style arsenal" of China and moved to Jialing River in Chongqing in 1938, changing its name to the 21st Arsenal.

In 1935, the Artillery Department was set up in Dongjiadun, Zhuzhou, Hunan Province. In April 1938, the Artillery Department moved to Sichuan and to the west of the Yangtze River. In September, the migration was completed. At the end of 1940, it was officially put into operation at Zhongshutuo, Jialing River, Chongqing, and was named the 10th Arsenal in early 1941.
