CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A slow moving train connecting Chongqing and Guizhou is in the spotlight of the public lately. In such times when everything is fast paced, passengers are bestowed with leisure and ease travelling by this train as it runs at a speed not exceeding 60 km/h.

The train leaves Chongqing Caiyuanba Station for Zunyi at 10:40. Many more passengers will board the train along the way. It is said that this train only runs at less than 60km/h. Passengers can take their time to enjoy the sceneries the nature has to offer. Follow me, and let’s have a look.

Qijiang 綦江

Qijiang National Geological Park of Chongqing, consisting of three scenic areas: Muhua Rock, Laoying Mountain and Gujian Mountain, is a popular place. You would feel like being in a forest from a fantasy when you are in Gujian Mountain. The freshness of the air is unprecedented compared with that of many other mountains. The tranquility of the mountain purifies our heart, leaving all the hustle and bustle of the city behind. Dingshan Lake, rich in natural resources and culture, located at Dingshan, Qijiang, is also a scenic area with high hills and an enclosed lake. Main places of interest include Jinshan Temple, Biahe Grove and the Chongqing-Guizhou Boundary Marker.

Tongzi 桐梓

Tongzi County, located at the northern part of Guizhou Province, is a county in the jurisdiction of Zunyi City. Bordering on Chongqing, it is called the “North Portal of Guizhou.” Main places of interests include Liangfengya Provincial Forest Park, Miao ethnicity culture, Guancang Fishing Platform, Jiuba Huanghegou, Boqing Nature Reserve, Yangdeng Valley Rafting (Tonggutan Rafting), Huanglian Nature Reserve, Ancient Yelang Rafting and Ancient Yelang, and the Li Bai Penal Colony.

Loushan Pass 娄山关

Loushan Pass, also known as Taiping Pass, sits at the intersection of Huichan District and Tongzi County. It is a valuable route connecting Sichuan and Guizhou. It was named after Loushan Mountain in ancient times. It is the highest peak of the mountain, with an altitude of 1576m. Located 50km away from Zunyi City, the passage was of great importance in military strategies in ancient China. It is said that one guard could hold this pass against ten thousand enemies.

Zunyi 遵义

Zunyi, located at north of Guizhou, is its second largest city. For those who want to dive deep into the northern part of Guizhou, Zunyi is a terminal of great significance. The west bank of Xiangjiang River is home to the Old City of Zunyi, with almost all buildings related to Zunyi Meeting. On the east bank of the river, at a junction where three main roads meet, is a prosperous business center.

Zunyi has many historic scenic areas, such as the Chishui National Scenic Area. It also offers rich natural resources. Various forest parks, historic cultures and natural resources are tied together. Beyond that, Zunyi is home to Moutai, the National Chinese Liquor, and a famous spirit brand all around the world. (Translated by Yang Lifu, Fathom Language Limited)
