CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- What kind of robots do you imagine? Does it have a round or square head, flexible body, hands or feet? Recently, there has been a robot called “Golden Cudgel”, which was designed by a team in Chongqing. Showing in This is Fighting Robots, a network variety show, it became one of Sa Beining’s members and will have an exciting robot battle with other teams around the world. As soon as Golden Cudgel was mentioned, they seemed so excited that they talked about the stories in high spirits during whole course.

It is known that This is Fighting Robots is a network variety show related to armor battle among robots. The show features 48 international robot teams that attract the most countries. Famous stars — Zheng Shuang, Zhang Yishan, Chun Wu, and Sa Beining — will be the manager of the teams respectively.

“I want all of you to see robots not only made in China, but also designed in China.”

Why did you call the robot “Golden Cudgel”? The members of the team from Chongqing answered happily, “It looks like a stick. As soon as mentioning the stick, the most famous one in China will be the ‘golden cudgel’.” Right — it is so easy and full of personality!

The team consists of five members with the average age of 35. Xiong Huan is the leader of the team. Xiong Huan still remembered the feeling of excitement as he received the invitation from the program group. After keeping calm, he and his members started to think about how to design a special robot with competitive ability. The brainstorming lasted a week.

After a month of hard work on the design, plans and prototype, the final model of the robot has been determined from the test results of the prototype. Eventually, the “Golden Cudgel” came to birth after many nights of hard work by the team.

It is 110kg and 1.8 meters long. It also contains over 500 screw spikes and dozens of electric wires which are about 20 meters in total. In addition, aeronautical aluminum alloy, titanium alloy tubes, rubbers, alloy aluminum wheels and other materials are also used to design a robot which looks cool but has competitive attack ability.
