CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- In the past few days, whether in the major parks of Yuzhong District or near the main roads, citizens and tourists can see flowers and lush greenery everywhere and feel the vitality and colorfulness of spring.

In the first quarter of this year, Yuzhong District has fully implemented of tree planting at the bridgehead, rail transit, urban roads, urban interchange nodes, urban vacant land and mountains. Some seventy categories of greening and upgrading projects were undertaken.

At present, 400,000 square meters of green space has been upgraded and reconstructed. About 110,000 of lagerstroemia indica (“crape myrtle”), cherry blossoms and other flowering trees and shrubs have been planted, along with colored foliage plants and 1.1 million pots of flowers, such as ranunculus asiaticus (the “Persian buttercup”) and anemone. In the urban area, 7,000 square meters of land are sown with 40kg of sulphureus and rudbeckia hybrida.
