CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, a public visit took place at the Chongqing Special Education Center, attended by players from Chongqing SWM Football Team. Deng Xiaofei, Li Fang, Chen Lei and three other football players joined the children who are blind, playing football with them as well as taking care of them.

The SWM players joined with the kids after having a look at their hand-made works in the gallery. The football players made various items including dumplings, gold fish and footballs. The doorkeeper, Deng Xiaofei, chose the most difficult one: a tangyuan.

The climax came when a 6v6 game was played between the kids and the players at the end of the visit. When asked to wear an eye-cover, players from SWM were somewhat nervous. “I felt insecure and a little afraid,” said SWM player Li Fang. In the 20-minute game, players could not even dribble, which is pretty basic. All they could do was probe forward as instructed by the doorkeeper as he was the only one allowed to see. Compared with them, kids from the Special Education Center, who are better at auditory and spatial senses, were gaining an advantage and made several goals.

As told by the captain, Wu Qing, the kids are pretty optimistic and are highly intrigued by the sport. “The club hopes that with visits like this, the kids can be encouraged from the bottom of their heart and be willing to take part in and enjoy these sports happily under the sun.” Later on, Chongqing SWM players will continue their visits to schools to encourage more kids to join them in doing sports.
