CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Liziba Station built in a building for Line 2 has been a tourist attraction and now the Liujiaping Station of Line 6 becomes a new hot spot.
Liujiaping Station is located near Changshengqiao in Nan’an District, and the Dongxi Avenue is at one side of the station. For passengers’ convenience, an overpass was constructed to connect the road, while the idyllic scenery is at other side of the station.
The open floor supporting the metro platform is in a winding river, which flows to Yangtze River. Days of rainfall made the water muddy.
There is grass and duckweed on the bottom of the open floor and the reflection of the station can be seen in the water. Many young people like playing in the river, with trains passing by above.
General design engineer: leave space for Line 8
According to Wang Peng, the general design engineer of Phase II of Line 6, Liujiaping Station is the transfer station of Line 6 and Line 8. After the transfer point, the train will run south. Since Line 6 is an elevated station, Line 8 shall also be elevated. The space beside the road is left for Line 8.
For the aquatic plant under the station, Wang said the design required the coordination of station structure and environment to reduce the impact on primitive environment. In addition, shock absorption measures have been adopted. “The design theory of the station is water-loving and people can view the river when sitting on train. With the perfection of surrounding construction, the Liujiaping Station will become more and more beautiful.” (Translated by Ma Shuangshuang, Fathom Language Limited)
