1.Chongqing Nanshan Botanical Garden in Nan’an

Nanshan Botanical Garden was built on the basis of Nanshan Park in 1995. It is a national AAAA-level scenic spot adjacent to the Yangtze River and Mount Nanshan, with an altitude of 420-680 meters above sea level. There are more than a thousand kinds of famous Chinese and foreign flowers in the park. There are flowers and fragrances all year round. It is currently the most famous and largest botanical garden in Chongqing, and has won the reputation of “Mountain City Corolla”.

2.Three Gorges Rare Botanical Garden in Wanzhou

This rare arboretum of the Three Gorges was established during the relocation of the Three Gorges Project. It is located near Wanzhou Airport and covers 1,200mu. There are national-grade protected plants such as Cyathea spinulosa (known as the flying spider-monkey tree fern), Adiantum reniforme (lotus-leaved maidenhair fern), Tapiscia and other rare and endangered plants in the Three Gorges reservoir area. It now has 12 specialized gardens including the Three Gorges ancient tree viewing area, magnolia garden, and rare gymnosperm area.

3.Yuxi Botanical Garden in Rongchang

The Yuxi Botanical Garden was established in 1997. It is located beside the Donghu Reservoir near the Fenggao Sub-district in Rongchang District. It integrates plant research and education, native tree species display, tourism and sightseeing, recreation and entertainment in Yuxi, and implements ex situ conservation for rare and endangered plants. There are more than ten special gardens such as Bamboo Garden, Chimonanthus praecox (wintersweet or Japanese allspice) Garden, and Osmanthus fragrans (sweet olive) Garden. It is a good place for weekend leisure.

4.·Huangshui Medicinal Botanical Garden in Shizhu

Huangshui Medical Botanical Garden is located in Huangshui Town, Shizhu County. It was officially opened in 2007 and is an important part of the Chongqing National Huangshui Forest Park. Huangshui Medicinal Botanical Garden is the first botanical garden in Chongqing with the theme of “medicine”. There are many varieties of herbs, woody trees, vines, aquatic and wet medicinal plants in the park. There are more than a thousand samples of traditional Chinese medicines on display.

5.·Qijiang Orchid Science and Technology Park in Qijiang

Qijiang Orchid Garden is the first high-tech orchid ornamental garden in China and covers an area of 170mu. With orchid-related technology as the core, it integrates orchid breeding, orchid exhibition, orchid products, science popularization, entertainment and urban sightseeing functions. The park consists mainly of an orchid technology exhibition center, orchid factory, orchid city living room and other visiting buildings and facilities.
