TOKYO, May 31 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 108 yen range in early deals in Tokyo on Thursday, marginally lower than its levels in New York overnight.

As markets opened here, the dollar fetched 108.72-73 yen compared with 108.86-96 yen in New York and 108.72-73 yen at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1665-1666 dollars and 126.82-83 yen against 1.1657-1667 dollars and 127.01-11 yen in New York and 1.1603-1604 dollars and 126.15-19 yen in late Wednesday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
