CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- NFC (Near-field communication) in your smartphone can free you from queuing up in service hall or CRT station for IC card recharge. Chongqing Payeasy Company said the number of transactions concluded through NFC in mobile phone has exceeded 200,000 in the two weeks since its launch.

Shen, from Chongqing Technology and Business University, recharged his IC card with NFC. Shen said during the morning peak, it usually takes twenty minutes to queue up for IC card recharging. Now the “Chongqing Shimintong” APP and NFC in mobile phone dramatically reduce the time to less than 10 seconds.

You can download the “Chongqing Shimintong” APP and enable NFC, which is off by default in mobile phone; then click the “Bus Card Recharge” on the home page and put the card at the NFC sensing area on the back of the mobile phone. If you hear a sound of “Di”, it means successful recognition and then you can choose the amount of money you want and confirm the payment; then put the card on the sensing area again and the system will recharge the card automatically.

It should be noted that this function is only available on Android-powered mobile phone with NFC; the iPhone doesn’t support it. (Translated by Xu Mengmiao, Fathom Language Limited)
