CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Liangping Baili Bamboo Forest Scenic Area will officially open on June 8th, and several activities including intangible cultural heritage performance, rural food and Guqin (Chinese zither) concert will be held. In addition, the Chongqing Summer Tourism Season will also hold its opening ceremony on the same day.

It is reported that the 350,000mu of contiguous Baili Bamboo Forest in northwestern Liangping abounds in Shouzhu Bamboo, making the District the “Homeland of Shouzhu Bamboo”. Liangping District is also praised as “A Place of Health and Happiness” as there are numerous centenarians living there. The Baili Bamboo Forest is the only bamboo forest scenic area dominated by Shouzhu Bamboo.

Bamboos and music can always bring out the best in each other. On June 8th, the Baili Bamboo Forest International Guqin Concert will be held at Tianxingtang. Famous Guqin players will gather in the town and deliver excellent performances, and visitors may enjoy themselves in full-bamboo feast, Dingguo feast, bamboo hotels and bamboo beds. In addition, visitors may also have a tour at Zhufeng Lake, Shuanggui Lake Scenic Area and Shuanggui Hall.
