CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Is there a place that is interesting, safe and good for learning? Chongqing’s largest children’s bookstore, created by Chongqing Xinhua Bookstore and located at IMIX PARK, Daping, was opened recently.

The children’s bookstore is the largest, covering 1,200m2 in total, and contains over 20,000 children’s books. It features books for drawing, picture books, popular science, and other subjects. Its special design is scientific. It provides a platform for children to learn scientific knowledge, humanistic aesthetics, clay figurines, papercraft, sand painting, fabric art and other skills.

The “Dolphin Reading Room,” built by Xinhua Bookstore and Dolphin Media, attracted many parents and children. The Room contains the books including those winning the Caldecott Medal, Kate Greenaway Medal, Hans Christian Andersen Medal, German Juvenile Literature Award and others. It has also received authorization for Barbie, Marvel, Octonauts and others. The Picture Book Hall contains over 500 kinds of “original + imported” picture books including Sidewalk Flowers, Flora and the Flamingo, Who Is the World for and others. The picture books are classified into categories such as emotion management, imagination and creation, character cultivation, and habit formation, in order to help children develop reading interests and habits, and find interest and power from books via the regular picture books theme activities.

The bookstore also has a “Cultural Creation Living Hall” and a “Children’s Experience Area”, providing “safe, healthy, environment-friendly, cultural and creative” diversified products to children. For adults, there is a “Parents Reading Leisure Area” providing drinks and food, providing an all-around one-stop service for children.

As a children’s bookstore, it concentrates its efforts on interaction. It is reported that the “Children Growth Club” built by the bookstore will be available for readers by public welfare-oriented means and welcomes every child to join in the club.
