CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- At 10:30 a.m. on June 5th, loud air raid sirens sounded over the city of Chongqing to commemorate the Chongqing Bombing and the Great Tunnel Massacre. At the same time, the film "Unbreakable Spirit" based on the background of the "Chongqing Bombing" held a special screening in Chongqing. The main creative staff — including director Xiao Feng — came to Chongqing with great respect and showed it to the people of the city. The film pays tribute to Chongqing – a city of heroes in such a way. It is reported that the film is to premiere on August 17th.

Scenes of Chongqing

Realistic restoration of the city over 70 years ago

The Oscar Academy Awards for the first time in 1942 issued a documentary award. The award-winning documentary was "Kukan". There was more than ten minutes of footage of the Chongqing Bombing, in which the real scene presented was somewhat unexpected. When encountering air raids, the Chongqing people at that time were not as flustered, noisy and desperate as imagined. After the second red balloon was hoisted after the air defense warning, the enemy would fly over the Chongqing Peninsula half an hour later. Chongqing people still sit on the last ferry on the river to avoid the bombs on the other side of the river. The film Unbreakable Spirit uses cinematic footage to recall the true history. The first to be restored is Chongqing.

Shibati, sloppy hanging houses built up against the mountains, busy Chaotianmen Wharf, Xinhua Daily Newspaper, etc.... all seem to be copied from the old photographs. Director Xiao Feng visited Chongqing several times in the early stages of preparations in 2011 and eventually restored a “Chongqing City” in Xiangshan.
