The Yangtze River Cableway was built in March 1986. It was completed and put into operation in October 1987. It is the first large-scale river crossing passenger ropeway on the Yangtze River independently designed and manufactured in China. It has won the reputation of the first “air corridor” and called “the airbus of the Yangtze River.” The cableway connecting the bustling Yuzhong District and the Nan'an District among beautiful mountains and rivers is an important part of the unique transportation network in Chongqing. 2. Golden Buddha Mountain Xipo Cableway

The Golden Buddha Mountain Xipo Cableway was officially opened in July 2009. It is the only road from the west slope of Golden Buddha Mountain to the Peak Qianniuping scenic spot. The total length of the cableway is 2,700 meters, and the operating speed is up to 6 meters/second. The vertical lift of the cableway is about 900 meters. When the main lift section is more than 1 kilometer, the lift height is nearly 800 meters. When people ride in the car, it is like flying above the landscape.

3. Wuling Mountain Great Rift Valley Wuling Taidou Cableway

Wuling Mountain Great Rift Scenic Area boasts of “Wuling Taidou” cableway, which is called “the steepest in Asia”. The climbing standard angle of world’s highest reciprocating ropeway is 45 degrees. The current cableway slope has reached 42.6 degrees, the vertical drop height is about 360 meters, and the length is 634 meters. It is a cableway with strong transport capacity and appreciation value.

4. Furongjiang River Cableway

The length of the Furongjiang River Cableway is 1.88 kilometers, with a height drop of 66 meters. The cableway adopts a two-way cycle operation. The one-way operation takes ten minutes. It is the longest riverside cableway in the world. Furongjiang River Cableway is not only a means of transport, but also a mobile sightseeing gallery. It slowly rises along the Furongjiang River, creating a safer and more efficient tourist environment for tourists, while at the same time allowing visitors to overlook the beautiful scenery of the river.
