2018-06-12 09:52:08

Second generation: FIAT

Without air conditioners, it wasn’t popular in the market.

In the taxi history of Chongqing, FIAT, the second generation of taxi in Chongqing, showed up in this city only for a short time.

FIAT 126P Car showed up in Chongqing in 1980.

Cheng Ping recollected that two models of the taxi made an impression to people. But FIAT 126P had to exit hot Chongqing in a short time without air conditioners.

Third generation: Nissan

Lada also became the first batch of private car.

With the birth of Nissan Cedric, Zhongbei Company of Chongqing Taxi Co., Ltd. built a fleet of Nissan taxis in 1992. Nissan cars cost 1.8 yuan per kilometer which was the highest price compared to other kinds of taxis during the same period.

By contrast, the taxis of Polonez and Lada cost a little less. “It should be about 1.4 yuan per kilometer.” Cheng Ping said. The price which seems so low actually was very high at that time. In the 1990s, most people only earned about 100 yuan a month, so taking a taxi was the exclusive right of businessmen because it would cost about 10 yuan.

The first batch of rich people started to choose their private cars as the appearance of Lada, which became the first private car of families. It also quickly disappeared from the market without air conditioners. Lada, as the private car of the family, was later updated with air conditioning.

Fourth generation: Changan Suzuki

The first generation of special taxi driver showed up.

A minicar, as a taxi, appeared in Chongqing in the beginning of 1995. It was the Alto that swept through Chongqing for more than ten years.

The first Alto appeared in Chongqing on Mar. 25th, 1995. Alto, with a three-meter long body, had enough space to move in the narrow roads Chongqing had at that time.

“At that time, we went to every place of Jiefangbei. It is impossible for other cars to move in for the narrow roads. I can go anywhere I want if I drive an Alto.” Wang Ziping, a 50-year-old taxi driver of Chongqing Guotai Taxi Co., Ltd, said. He entered the Chongqing taxi industry and was proud of becoming a taxi driver in the 1990s. Wang Ziping said that the Alto brought up the first batch of professional taxi drivers.

Antelope, Tianyu and Qiyue showed as the taxi one by one, providing great convenience for citizens.
