RIYADH, July 10 (Xinhua) -- A Saudi defence official was arrested over corruption, Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

The police received a case from the Defence Ministry of suspicious financial transactions of one of its executive official with a commercial company.

The investigation revealed that the suspect confessed he received 266,600 U.S. dollars from a company. Two others involved in the case were also arrested.

The case is part of a series of measures to fight corruption, showing Saudi Arabia's ambitious plans to promote the investment and business environment.
