Recently, the construction of the green belt of slope nearby the Liziba Station has been completed, where the light rail train runs through buildings. The washed relief looks very beautiful and striking. Meanwhile, the exterior viewing platform is under construction.

Shoot “light rail train running through the buildings” at Liziba Station and the tourists’ experience will be improved.

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to the Yuzhong District government, the Liziba viewing platform is under construction and expected to be completed at the end of August. The supporting facilities, such as toilets beneath the platform, will be open to the public for free before the National Day.

By design scheme, viewing platform covers an area of about 1,500 square meters, consisting of two main parts: photographic zone of 840 square meters, and functional zone which includes the tour bus stop, shooting square zone, glass trestle viewing zone and pedestrian path. Moreover, the project will add two footpaths, respectively connected with Liziba Park and Jiabin Road. Under the platform, the toilets cover an area of more than 140 square meters.

The shooting area of 840 square meters has reserved space

At present, the main area for tourists taking photos is a four-meter-wide sidewalk, which is under great traffic pressure and has certain safety hazards. Therefore, what’s the proper size of the viewing platform?

It has been proved by experiments that in the public environment, the area of an ordinary person standing without touching others is about 0.28 square meters while the critical area is 0.75 square meters per person, and the comfortable area is 1.44 square meters per person.

The director of the project gives some data based on the population on site at different time. Usually, the instantaneous peak number of tourist is 80 - 100. However, the instantaneous peak number during holidays and festivals is 250 - 300. Therefore, the viewing platform shall be designed to accommodate over 300 persons.

Enjoy river views and “lights changing with the train” on the glass trestle

The aerial footpath platform is about 8 meters wide. One of the highlights is the glass trestle which is extended from the platform. This site is reasonably misaligned with the “train running through building” shooting area and has a terrific view of the river.

In addition to the train and the river, the evening lights on the Liziba viewing platform also fascinate a large number of tourists at night.

The ground lamps are designed for the scene of “lights changing with the train”. According to the director, the ground lights strip and dotted ground lamps are based on the overall line, and the light colors change regularly in light of the departure and arrival time of the train. In this way, tourists’ interaction with the landscapes and their feelings are enhanced.

The viewing platform is expected to be completed and open to the public for free at the end of August. After the completion of the project, the government of Yuzhong District will be responsible for the operation and maintenance.

New footpath connecting Liziba Park

Since the Liziba Station has become a hot scenic spot, the corresponding supporting facilities should be provided. Therefore, nearly 200-square meters supporting facilities beneath the viewing platform are put into schedule. In addition to the houses for management, toilet area covers more than 140 square meters, which will be convenient for tourists.

According to the project director, parts of the supporting facilities are expected to be completed and put into use before the National Day, and public toilets of high standards will be open to the public free of charge.

Moreover, two new footpaths will be added to the viewing platform, connecting Liziba Park and Jiabin Road respectively, which will greatly ease the traffic in the area. (Translated by Song Zhipeng, Fathom Language Limited)
