CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- For the heavy rainfall and inflowing water, Chongqing is influenced by the flood from the Yangtze, Jialing and Fujiang Rivers. While the flood is coming, 15 effected districts and counties, such as Tongnan, Tongliang and Hechuan, are getting ready for it. Chongqing people build the strongest "dam" with love in the flood.

The upstream areas of the Minjiang River, Tuojiang River and Jialing River have existed the flood over warning, safe or historical water level. The main reservoirs of Jialing River intensified releasing water to reduce the pressure of flood. The “No. 2 Flood of the Yangtze River 2018” is formed in the upstream area of the Yangtze River.

Given the severe situation of flood prevention, Bureau of Hydrology, Changjiang Water Resources Commission has issued the flood orange alert, and the Office of Chongqing Flood Control and Drought Relief has released the second-level alert information for the flood and launched third-level emergency response of the flood prevention at 12:00 on July 11.

On July 12, in the spot of Taihe Town, Hechuan District where was hit worst by flood, firefighters, militias and volunteers are orderly organizing the evacuation of the trapped people.

"Don't be afraid. The uncle will catch you." Three-year-old Peiwen and her grandmother were trapped in the second floor of the residential building. When rescue soldiers arrive in a charge boat, the little girl, leaning forward bravely, is successfully caught by the firefighter.

Because the first floor has been flooded, rescue soldiers can’t come in. When rowing to the trapped residential building, they use their own shoulders as a ladder and successfully take the trapped children to a safe place. Rescue soldiers devote themselves to the next work without a rest.

With the help of militias and volunteers, people trapped by the flood have been transferred in Taihe Town of Hechuan. Most of them decided to ask their relatives and friends nearby for help.

The full-time fire brigade of government in Taihe Town have begun to transfer the people since the afternoon of July 11. Most of they didn’t sleep at night. They can only drink mineral water during the break, and then put themselves into work.

The fire soldier has saved a mother and child from the trapped building, taking off his clothe and putting it on the mother. Then he takes the boat to a safe zone with his fellows.

Fields, houses, forests with grasses in the low areas were inundated by the flood. Only the birds dare to stroll on the fence, while the water is turbulent and objects are floating on the river. Meanwhile, all departments in Chongqing have taken action to rescue and transfer victims and to protect the supply of power, water and communication.

Nearly 20 officials from Hydrologic Forecasting Office, Upper Changjiang River Bureau of Hydrology, Changjiang Water Resources Commission have worked all evening of July 12. With the up-and-down telephone sounds, they have carefully predicted and operated. Among them, some deduce the progress of flood, some analyze and assess the information and some is issuing the forecast information. Parts have worked for nearly 50 hours in a row.

There is no love in flood, but we have love in human heart. The most critical moment of flood prevention is coming. Chongqing people have built the strongest "dam" when facing the flood.
