The bus lane is 19.2 km

The bus-priority lane is the longest one among three available bus-priority lanes in th urban areas. The starting point is the Luneng Interchange Station in Yubei District, and the end point is the Chaoyouchang in Banan District, spanning 5 districts: Yubei, Jiangbei, Yuzhong, Nan’an and Banan, with a total length of 19.2 km. The whole route is: Luneng Interchange – Wulidian Interchange – Huanghuayuan Bridge – Shihuang Tunnel – Shibanpo Yangtze River Bridge – Nanping Tunnel – Jiangnan Avenue – Sigongli Interchange – Xuefu Avenue – Yunan Avenue – Chaoyouchang (鲁能立交—五里店立交—黄花园大桥—石黄隧道—石板坡长江大桥—南坪隧道—江南大道—四公里立交—学府大道—渝南大道—炒油场).

The bus-priority lane passes Huanghuayuan Bridge and Shibanpo Bridge, Shihuang Tunnel, Nanping Tunnel, Wulidian Interchange and Sigongli Interchange, and covers many elements of transportation including cross-river bridges, tunnels, and interchanges. Due to its distinct features, transportation authorities made several measures to make sure the traffic can run at high efficiency.

With the opening of the third bus-priority lane, the traffic rules along the route changed. During 7:00-9:00 and 17:00-19:00 on weekdays, the lane will be only open to buses, special task vehicles and school buses. All other vehicles are prohibited.

Sigongli Interchange bus-priority lane set in the middle

In the direction of Sigongli of Nan’an District to Yudong, the reporter saw that the bus-priority lane was set in the third lane instead of the right lane. The Bus Group staff said that because the third lane is more complex than the first two lanes, so according to the reality, the bus lane was adjusted accordingly.
