BEIJING, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- An annual music program has partnered with big tech firms to discover and promote amateur musicians in China.

The Fourth Music Creator Support Program will cooperate with Changba, Tencent, Kugou, and Sina Weibo, among other internet companies, to launch various musical talent shows -- including one on a college campus and another exclusively for folk songs -- to discover talented musicians, said Zhu Kening, president of the China Association of Performing Arts, which sponsors the program.

A total of 30 groups of musicians will be chosen to receive professional training, overseas exchanges, promotion on digital platforms, and sponsorship to perform at music festivals at home and abroad, Zhu added. The program will run for five months.

The program was initiated by government ministries in 2014 and has benefited 105 up-and-coming musicians over the past three years.
