Blazes hit Lebanese towns due to high temperature
BEIRUT, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Several fires have erupted in a number of Lebanese towns, Elnashra, a Lebanese online newspaper, reported Monday.
A fire broke out near the automotive inspection center in Zahrani because of extremely high level of temperature, it said.
Another fire erupted in Bzal in Akkar district, while a third huge fire blew up in Kobayat, northeast of Tripoli, prompting civil defense teams to call on people in the area to assist them in extinguishing the fire.
Suleiman Fangieh, leader of Lebanon's Marada Movement, earlier called on security forces to prohibit the use of fireworks near the woods as fire at this time of the year is very likely.
