"Ranking list of the number of bookstores in Chinese cities" is made and issued by the Books and Periodicals Distribution Association of China (BPDAC) and a well-known publishing portal in China - Bookdao New Publishing Institute (BNPI). The data of the list shows that Beijing tops the list with 6,719 bookstores, Chengdu ranks second with 3,463, and Chongqing is in the third place with 2,473 bookstores.
