CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The summer vacation in 2018 has come to an end. During the summer vacation, Chongqing Airport welcomed 7.18 million passengers and saw 51,000 flights in and out of the airport.

This year's summer holiday is the first summer holiday after the T3 terminal of Chongqing Airport is put into operation. According to the statistics, during the summer vacation, Chongqing Airport welcomed 7.18 million passengers in and out of the airport, up 8% from last year; and 51,000 flights in and out, up 3.7% from last year; cargo of 61,000 tons, up 9.4% from last year. Among them, the highest peak in one day welcomes 122,000 passengers in and out of the airport, and the number of flights in and out on a single day is up to 900. The number of single-day flights has reached a record high.

In respect of the routes, during the summer vacation, Chongqing Airport opened an international new route to Sihanoukville and resumed the route from Chongqing to Irkutsk. The route from Chongqing to Hongyuan was restored on the domestic route, and more routes from Chongqing to Jining and Luoyang were added.

Chongqing Airport said that the next step is to open international routes to Toronto and Chicago and add more international routes to London and other places. New routes to Shigatse, Luguhu and Jinggangshan will be opened, more will be added to domestic cities of Qianjiang and Ganzhou, to meet the increasing travel needs of the citizens.
