Chinese police seize over 215 kg drugs
KUNMING, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Police in southwest China's Yunnan Province arrested a drug trafficker and seized more than 200 kg of methamphetamine, said a local police source Wednesday.
In late July, the police in the city of Lincang got a tip-off saying that someone was planning to transport large amounts of drugs across the border into China.
On Aug. 13, a Myanmar man was nabbed by the police, who allegedly carried 317 bags of methamphetamine, with a combined weight of 215.7 kg, hidden in a pickup truck.
The case is under further investigation.
Yunnan is a major front in China's battle against drug crime as it borders the Golden Triangle, known for drug trafficking in southeast Asia.
