CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- After the inspirational sports films like wrestling in India and figure skating in Russia releasing, the Malaysian film "Lee Zongwei: Rise of the Legend” is to be released in mainland China on September 7. Recently, the film adapted from the true story of Malaysian badminton player Lee Zongwei was premiered in Chongqing and the audiences are moved by the ubiquitous spirit of "never give up" in the film.
In the movie, Lee Chong Wei, who loves badminton as a child, aspires to become the top 1 in the world and takes it as his goal to move ahead all the way. The story tells the inspirational process of growing up from a young man in a small town to a top badminton player in the world. The film is directed by Malaysian-Chinese director Ma Yiteng, led by Yang Yanyan and Li Guohuang. Lee Chong Wei personally plays the role of Lee Chong Wei in the film.
