CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- This is the earliest commercialized riverside road in the main urban areas of Chongqing. The fine food and night scenes have made it famous. Under the neon, the roads and the laughter make this road along the river become a good place to appreciate the beauty of Chongqing.

This is not its first glory. A hundred years ago, the arrival of a foreign ship brought decades of prosperity. Many European-style buildings were built, creating a different style for the inland city. And what we been talking about, is Nanbin Road in Nan'an District.

For many people, Nanbin Road is just a landmark for the night view and gourmet food. They didn’t realize that foreign-styled buildings carrying the history of Chongqing is hidden behind the busy road.

With the successive “resurrection” of Mishi Old Street and Danzishi Old Street, Longmenhao Old Street will also appear in front of us with a new look and will be connected with the old streets of Mishi and Danzishi on September 22.

Longmenhao Old Street to open on Sept. 22

The old streets, as the soul of a city, witnessed the rise and fall of history and embodies the essence of a city. Those old buildings and old streets that have passed through time and survived can always evoke the historical shadows of people's deep memories.

Longmenhao Old Street, on the river bank of Nan’an District, was once a real "Yangren Street". It is engraved with the memories of the older generation of Chongqing people. Despite a hundred years of history, the old foreign culture still left traces at Longmenhao Old Street.

There are 27 buildings in the first opening area of Longmenhao Old Street, including 6 district-level historical and cultural protection building, 1 excellent historical building and 20 architectural buildings.

In order to "resurrect" these old buildings, the bricks and tiles used in their renovation are all treasures that the purchasers bought from the old and demolished buildings and lands. There are in total more than 1.6 million old bricks, over 400,000 old tiles and more than 30,000 tons of sandstone slates.

At the old street, The site of former Italian Embassy, which once existed only in photos, was “resurrected” in the hands of cultural relics restoration experts.

The sites of the 1st and 2nd villas of the US military diplomats and No. 80 of the Wanger Tower were originally a district-level cultural preservation building of the American Embassy villa complex, but they were seriously damaged. Experts tried to recover them as much as possible, using original materials and original processes and preserving original components.

The preservation of the site of Xinhua Trust and Savings Bank and the site of the Customs House will be repaired by means of overall shape protective cleaning and internal renovation and painting.

Starlight Observation Deck to open this Mid-Autumn Festival

Beginning on September 22, a new observation deck that can see bridge-crossing rail transit train at close range will be added.

At the top of Longmenhao Old Street, there will be a Starlight Observation Deck. Standing on it, people can not only enjoy the scenery of the two rivers, but also can see the scenery of rail transit trains passing through a bridge.

The Starlight Observation Deck is planned to be opened during the Mid-Autumn Festival. This observation deck is made of 10 m x 10 m full glass and will be the best place to enjoy the Yuzhong Peninsula. When night falls, beautiful lights turn on and Line 6 trains pass magically through the foot. Everything is as wonderful as a dream.

The observation deck on the top of Longmenhao Old Street will be built on the side of the Dongshuimen Bridge, which will become the nearest and most shocking place in Chongqing to see rail transit trains.
