CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The comprehensive material art breaks the limitation of traditional painting concept, using various materials to express the concept and thought through the characteristics and texture of material itself, which has become an important category for many artists to demonstrate the spirit of times, update creative concept and explore formal language in recent years. Recently, the First Comprehensive Material Art Works Exhibition in Chongqing opened at the Art Museum of Chongqing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, which featured 80 works.

It is known that in 2014, "the 12th National Fine Art Exhibition" set up an independent exhibition area of "Comprehensive Material Art Works". At that exhibition, 14 works from Chongqing were selected, 2 of which participated in the “Exhibition of Works Nominated for Award” held in National Art Museum of China. This exhibition was sponsored by the Chongqing Artists Association and co-hosted by the Association's Mixed-media Art Committee and Chongqing Federation of Literary and Art Circles’ Activity Center, for fully preparing for the host of “The 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts, China” in 2019.
