This exhibition brings together the works of replicating and restoration of murals such as Dunhuang Research Institute, Kucha Research Institute, Shaanxi History Museum and Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, and presents the latest achievements in the study of Chinese traditional mural reproduction and restoration. In the exhibition, there are famous masterpieces of copied works by senior prominent painters as well as excellent works of restoration and replication by the many young artists.

Like the replica works provided by the Yongle Palace Mural Protection Institute, the Sanqing Temple "Chaoyuan Figure" is a large-scale masterpieces replica on the site of the original "Chaoyuan Figure" mural at Yongle Palace Sanqing Temple by a group of time-honored famous artists in China for more than 20 years. The "Chaoyuan Figure" mural is 94.68 meters long and 4.26 meters high, with a total of 403 square meters. There are about 300 characters. In the painting, the main portrait is solemn and surrounded by other side portraits, figures are rich and vivid and are in high spirits, and every figure is distinct. Exquisite murals awaken "dusty memories"

Upon entering the gate, the mural " Ascension -Kizil New 1 Grotto" copied by the Xinjiang Kusha Research Institute can be seen firstly. The exquisite ascension, colorful and majestic, makes people feel like they are "crossing" the tunnel of time and space. The 15 pieces of the Kucha mural selected by the Kucha Research Institute are presented in the form of stylized, orderly, and patterned decorative features, both in composition and in color. The diamond-shaped lattice is the typical composition forms of the Kucha murals and one of the important artistic achievements. It makes the viewer's vision and thinking roam in this pure, solemn and beautiful artistic conception.

The exhibition attracts many people.

Dunhuang Murals are an insurmountable chapter in the history of Chinese art. However, due to its fragility and immovability, reproduction has become an important means of preservation and dissemination at home and abroad. In the practice of reproduction for more than 70 years, art workers in Dunhuang started from a partial, small, and irregular version of the book, gradually developed a planned and large-scale mural reproduction, and finally developed a standardized and systematic method for whole-cave replication. The numerous works brought by the Dunhuang Research Institution have provided Chongqing people a chance to fulfill their artistic needs. (Translated by Yang Lifu, Fathom Language Limited)
