79 national first-class bronze artifacts exhibited in Chongqing

The opening ceremony of “Sanxingdui gold-masked portrait” at the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum “Grand Banquet” exhibition on September 28th.

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On the evening of the 28th, nearly 400 people experienced the fun of the night trip to Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum. They were the first batch of visitors of the “Grand Banquet - witnessing the greater Southwest in the ‘Records of the Grand Historian’" exhibition. The exhibition was officially opened at the Three Gorges Museum on the 29th and is the most representative original exhibition of the museum this year. The exhibition sees the first gathering of the bronze treasure in five provinces and autonomous regions in the southwest region. A total of 202 pieces (sets) of cultural relics were exhibited, including 79 pieces of national first-class cultural relics.

This exhibition is jointly sponsored by Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Museum, Guizhou Provincial Museum, Sichuan Museum, Yunnan Provincial Museum, Chengdu Museum, Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum, Sichuan Guanghan Sanxingdui Museum. "This is a voyage to the bronze culture. The bronze treasure is used to confirm the records of the ‘Records of the Grand Historian’ on the southwest region, so that the audience can understand the splendid culture of the southwest region." A person in charge of the Three Gorges Museum said.

The well-known national treasure "gold-masked bronze portrait" which is housed in the Sichuan Guanghan Sanxingdui Museum was unveiled in this exhibition. On the evening of September 28th, more than 400 citizens witnessed the opening ceremony of this national treasure.
