Sightseeing ferry connecting Chaotianmen and Ciqikou to be open
CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The boat is in the middle of the river, as if people are sightseeing in the painting. With all neon lights on, it feels wonderful. A sightseeing ferry connecting Chaotianmen and Ciqikou will be open this year, which maks it possible for tourists to appreciate the beauty of Ciqikou from another perspective.
The gorgeous Ciqikou at night
You may have been to Nanshan Mountain Yikeshu to appreciate Yuzhong Peninsula, or been to the riverside of Jialing River to see Hongyadong, but have you ever seen Ciqikou at night? Many tourists will choose to visit Ciqikou in the daytime, however, the ancient town is also stunning at night, and yet refreshing.
The night light project contains the Ciqikou Ancient Town in whole and its surround areas, stretching east to Jinsha Center Street, north to Shabin Road, west to Jinbi Center Street and south to Citong Road.
In terms of territorial distribution, the light decoration forms a nightscape scenery area of traditional and modern styles, in combination of the featured areas such as the district’s Shapingba-Ciqikou Cultural Area and Anti-Japanese War Culture Street as well as creative and cultural streets
The night market at Ciqikou every summer will be a definitive choice for people who want to enjoy the night life, night shopping and night sightseeing.
The co-operation between the project of night sightseeing by boat
The sightseeing ferry will help tourists travel from Chaotianmen in Yuzhong District to Ciqikou in Shapingba District, and vice versa.
Three sightseeing ferries will be put into use in this project, and each has a capacity of 350 people and a mileage of 16km; its running time is 50 minutes to 1 hour when travelling upstream and about 45 minutes when travelling downstream.
Besides that, Ciqikou Port has many interesting designs. The Ciqikou Port has been reconstructed in accordance with the settings from old photos, and an open area is reserved at the altitude of 175.9 meters to provide a place for people to rest and assemble.
And at the Qingshui Creek located at the southeast end, an outdoor theater is built by making use of the viaduct’s protruding parts. At the northwest section of the venue from Fenghuang Creek to Shuiguanyin, a platform and wooden plank road with simple style is also built.
And on the 7-meter high vertical pane between the square and the ancient town, the image of intangible cultural heritage, i.e. traditional boatmen singing folk songs by the rivers of Sichuan, is carved on the rocks. (Translated by Yang Lifu, Fathom Language Limited)
